Personal Lines - Remote - Full Time

About the Role

The Line of Business Product Manager for Personal Lines Insurance, will be responsible for shaping the strategic direction of our insurance products, owning the product P&L, and identifying and addressing future challenges in the market. This role will have a nationwide scope, encompassing all countrywide changes and analyses for our personal lines’ insurance products. Ideal candidate will lead a cross-functional team to drive product innovation, improve customer experience, and achieve business objectives.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • P&L Ownership and Strategic Planning:
    • Own the product P&L, including pricing strategy, revenue growth, and cost management.
    • Monitor the portfolio performance to identify and address any profit challenges
    • Utilize product experience, industry knowledge and competitor assessments, assist in the development of business segment strategies, appetite expansion and product enhancements.
    • Define the product roadmap and prioritize initiatives based on market research, customer feedback, and business goals.
 
  • Rating, Underwriting, Coverages, and Policy Contracts:
    • Work closely with the underwriting and actuarial teams to develop and implement effective rating and underwriting strategies.
    • Ensure a thorough understanding and ownership of insurance coverages, policy contracts, and claims processes.
    • Align pricing and underwriting actions with market conditions and business objectives.
 
  • Nationwide Analyses:
    • Utilize data analytics to inform product strategy, pricing decisions, and performance evaluation.
    • Lead the implementation of all countrywide changes for personal lines insurance products.
    • Conduct comprehensive analyses of product performance, market trends, and competitive positioning on a nationwide scale.
 
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify potential risks and hurdles in the market, such as regulatory changes, economic shifts, and technological disruptions.
    • Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to ensure business continuity.
    • Stay informed about changes in insurance regulations and ensure proactive compliance.
 
  • Customer Focus:
    • Champion the voice of the customer, ensuring products meet and exceed customer expectations.
    • Conduct market research, customer surveys, and focus groups to gather insights and validate product concepts.
    • Enhance customer experience through innovative product features, services, and digital solutions.

  • Partnership:
    • Partner with and guide as needed, Regional Product Managers and Underwriting Managers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
    • Drive cross-functional alignment and collaboration to achieve product objectives.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Actuarial Science, Finance, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in product management, preferably in the insurance industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and managing insurance products, with a focus on personal lines insurance.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to present complex information to senior management in a clear and impactful way.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards in insurance.
  • Exceptional execution and project management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
